Find and save the image
- Open the image Pin on Pinterest and copy its full link or supported pin.it share link.
- Paste it into the Pinterest image downloader and select Find images.
- On the results page, check the preview and the dimensions when supplied. Select Download image.
- Find the file in your browser’s Downloads list or your device’s file manager.
What “original” means
Pinterest may provide several resized URLs and an original image URL. MyPinDown prefers an exposed original, otherwise a larger available candidate. This is the public file Pinterest serves; it is not a guarantee of the photographer’s camera file, an uncompressed master, or the creator’s highest-resolution export.
Compare pixels, not display size
A narrow thumbnail can look large when stretched across a browser window. Stretching adds no detail. Check the downloaded file’s pixel dimensions using your device’s image information panel. When the source supplies no dimensions, MyPinDown labels it as an original file rather than inventing a resolution.
The current tool chooses a file; it does not provide a selector for every size or a side-by-side pixel comparison.
Why the file is JPG, PNG, or WebP
Pinterest supplies the source format, and MyPinDown preserves it. A WebP download is not automatically a JPG; saving a JPEG with a .png filename does not add transparency or quality. If you need another format, work from the downloaded file in an image editor.
Video covers and multi-image Pins
A video Pin can expose a poster or cover image. Saving that image does not download its video; use the video downloader for an available MP4. A multi-image Pin may expose only some of its images in public data. MyPinDown does not promise all carousel pages or a complete board export.
When a larger image is unavailable
If Pinterest returns only a small version, MyPinDown cannot reconstruct missing detail or undo source compression. Where appropriate, check the creator’s original website or ask for a larger file. Downloading an image does not grant permission to republish it.
If no result appears, use the troubleshooting guide to distinguish an unsupported link, unavailable Pin, or connection error.
